Dark and damp
The cold envelopes
The deep dark night

No end in sight
Or so it seems

A faint white light
It flickers in a glimmer
A hope, my Lord, a hope…

How do I sleep
When the night threatens me
Where do I seek
The light I used to know
Whom do I trust
When betrayals are all around me
Oh the deceit in the corners dank and dark

Dark shadows
You haunt me
I cannot hide
These secrets I want to burn

Dark shadows
You find me
I cannot hide
You are there at every turn

Oh, light, when shall you dispel the  darness within me?
