Tales of Queen Sunbeam

Her laughter wafts
Into the room
Dark shadows held at bay
To run behind closed doors
And take cover

Light comes to touch
These flowerets awake
That look up to greet the sun
Morning dew is gone
Dried up on blades of grass

She sings a song
Of a lovely morn
When the rainbow crossed the sky
To bid her well
She presents her with a smile

The day is gay
Filled with bright thoughts
She hums a merry tune
Happiness with a dance
Queen Sunbeam drives away my gloom

Unspoken

I would have wished
To say something
Yet
It would only serve
To ruin the evening

Make some drama
Wreck some havoc
But
I decided otherwise
I held my tongue

There is no use
For an excess of words
When
They fall on deaf ears
And nothing good comes of it

So I decided
To let this speech be undone
Not
To go in that old direction
To shorten my flow of thoughts

Can I Reach You?

Can I reach you

Where you are

And remind you

Of the heart

That wants to care

For only you

I want you to come back

I want you to be here

Look me in the eye

Tell me you are fine

I promise we will talk

Recover what we have lost

Tomorrow will be much better

Than yesterday or today

Tomorrow will be much better

Than yesterday or today

Turning 30

Another

Milestone to remember

Another

Page in my book

Another

Turn of the road

One more

Event we can toast

One more

Reason to celebrate

Even if

Mistakes have been made

Even if

I have my ups and downs

I am

Looking forward to tomorrow

I bear much

Hope for things to come

Each day

Serves as a brand new start

I thank

The Highest Power

I thank

Those whom I love

I forgive

Those who have hurt me

I forget

All those past hurts

The day

That I turn 30

Prelude to Twenty-nine

What awaits

Beyond the dawn

Escapes my thoughts

I cannot seem to

Comprehend

The waves as they

Rush

Against the sand

Not much to glance

Yet I adore

These petals strewn

Amidst the grass

Under the shade

Of the forest grand

Stars seem to dance

On the sunbeam’s last rays

Admitting that

The night has come

To take its chances

Against the setting sun

Still my heart then

To a silent tune

Beneath the glance

Of things to come

Magical mystery

Woven and wrought

By Time’s sure hands

To grieve no more

And rejoice again

Twenty-Eight Verses

Twenty-Eight Verses

With the night at end

Ane the day begun

The sunlight glides

To break the dawn

And allow the rain

To pause and think

Of puddles that muddy

The path one takes

Or rainbows to usher

The day’s delight

And I pause to wonder

Of the things to come

Be they lights or shadows

Joys or adversities

And see that the difference

That lies beneath

Depends on one’s perspective

Of what is at hand

Thus, I resolve to wear

Those rose-colored glasses

That I may see

The world anew

From the optimistic perspective

Despite the hurts

Or the ills that come

The darkness shall fade

And the light shall come

With the rising sun

Christmas Poetry

Christ Jesus was born

Here on earth on this day

Remember Him then

In your hearts where he reigns

Sometimes you may think

That He has gone away

Maybe, you’re just mistaken…

All along you might have searched for Him

Some place far from your heart

Calling to your loved-ones

Hope is overflowing

Round the season’s mantlepiece

Innocence and peace preside

Something is different

The air is light and cool

Must I need to tell you

At Christmastime

Spirits of love reign true
